I am Cdr Rajesh Sinha. I served as a submariner in the Indian Navy for 21 years from Nov 1993 to Dec 2014 after which I took pre-mature retirement. I am a Mechanical Engineer from ‘Naval College of Engineering’, Lonavala, with a Post Graduation in Nuclear Technology from ‘Bhabha Atomic Research Centre’, Mumbai and an MBA in Technology Management from ‘Indian Institute of Technology’, Delhi.
I am a complete petrol head. I have been crazy about cars since I have any memories. My interests also span all things which move mechanically. They are all engineering marvels which put me in awe as well as pieces of art which need to be appreciated and preserved. In addition to cars that can cover 350 km in an hour to trucks that can cross the Andes, these machines comprise the mammoth steam locomotives that pull trains running into miles in length, or Shinkansen trains that compete with airliners for speed, the huge ships that carry ware across the oceans, the warships and submarines that allow us to sleep in peace, huge aircraft like the A380 or the stealth ones like F117.
I wanted to share my enthusiasm about the transport systems and their components with the world and make people aware as to what they are and how they function. So I have started writing this blog where I shall introduce my readers to information both trivia and technical, historical and contemporary as well as futuristic about these objects of my love.
