Australia is a land of large distances. Getting stuck in the bush with a discharged car can be a matter of life and death there. Hence it does not come as a surprise that range anxiety is one of the main reasons why Australians are not embracing electric vehicles large scale. To overcome this issue the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has decided to invest AU$ 15 million dollars to set up ultra fast-charging stations. ARENA is providing federal funding to Evie Networks to establish a network of charging stations along highways in Australia. This funding is in addition to AU$ 50.2 Million already allocated for the first phase of inter-city highway network 350 KW ultra-fast chargers.
