Mercedes-AMG launched the GLE 53 4Matic+ in Europe today. The car is powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo inline-six-cylinder engine. Of the two turbochargers, one is driven by the exhaust while the second is electrically driven compressor. The total output of the engine is 435 HP and produces a torque of 520 N-m. The engine has an EQ boost starter-generator which delivers and additional 21.4 HP and 250 N-m of torque. This system also charges the 48 V electric system onboard. All the power and torque is transmitted to the four-wheel through the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. It is has the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension with the electromechanical roll stabilisation AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL. The GLE 53 is a seven-seater and is differentiated from other GLEs by an AMG specific grille with 15 vertical slats. Mercedes claims a fuel efficiency figure of 10.75 km/ litre and CO2 emissions not exceeding 212 gm/ km.
