HiFly, the Portuguese wetlease airline has taken the delivery of its first Airbus A330-900 neo aircraft. This aircraft will be used by HiFly for wet leasing, short term hire as well as short notice airline operations on behalf of other airlines. The operations will include provision of crew, maintenance and third-party insurance.

The aircraft procured by HiFly is in two class configuration. There are 18 business class seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. However, the main difference is in the economy class where the comfortable and traditional 2-4-2 arrangement of the A330 has been ditched in favour of a more tightly packed 3-3-3 configuration to squeeze in 353 seats.

Presently HiFly operates Airbus 330, 340 and 380 aircraft.
