Bobbers are long low bikes with a single saddle for enjoying a ride across smooth highways or for plugging some mud on a gravel path. They look sinister and enchanting at the same time. But, till now, they were expensive to own. However, Classic Legends, the company which has resurrected the Jawa brand has launched a much affordable bobber in the form of the Jawa Perak. Available in matte black, it is indeed a beauty to look at. The matte black scheme is broken by retro golden stripes on the fuel tank and body work. Rest of the bike is naked with an exposed rear mudguard. Monotony of black is broken by a tan single saddle which is cantilevered from the fuel tank.

The Jawa Perak is powered by a 334 cc naturally aspirated single cylinder engine with a relaxed compression ratio of 11:1. It produced 30 BHP of power and 31 N-m of torque. The engine breathes out through a twin exhaust. A constant mesh 6 speed transmission conveys the power and torque to the rear wheel through a chain drive.

The frame is a double cradle tubular structure with telescopic hydraulic fork at the front while a 7 step adjustable mono-shock does duty at the rear. Both front and rear wheels are wire mesh in keeping with bobber story and are fitted with disc brakes for safety, 280 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. The Perak comes with a dual channel ABS for added safety. The bike has a kerb weight of 179 kg, which is not very heavy and comes with a 14 litre tank.
