Tata Motors has revealed that their latest offering, an SUV would be called the Gravitas. The car will be launched in February 2020 and is based on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA) Architecture, which in turn is based on the legendary D8 platform of Land Rover.
The car was shown as the Buzzard in Europe and was widely rumoured to be christened the Cassini in India. This car is the seven seat version of the Tata Harrier and some call it the spiritual successor of the Tata Safari. However, whether Tata Motor will continue with the Safari model is not clear.

Announcing the name, Mr. Mayank Pareek – President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “We are elated to reveal the name of our latest SUV offering– the Tata GRAVITAS. With this, we are excited to offer to our customers, yet another state-of-the-art product. The GRAVITAS will up the ante in terms of luxury and performance and we are excited to launch this product to customers in February 2020. We are confident that the GRAVITAS will inspire and lead as a product among customers and industry alike.”
