Vintage electric is a USA based electric bike company. It produces bicycles with electric motor assist for a smooth, effortless and emission free ride. These bicycles are capable of serious speeds up to 30 to 40 km/h. The company has a range of bicycles, like the “Roadster”, “Scrambler” and “Tracker”.

The latest offering from the company is the “Cafe”. It is powered by human strength using pedals and also has a electric motor assist for helping climb steep inclines and to help rest the legs on long rides. These bikes are powered by Vintage Electric’s new Vintorque Technology. This is a motor assist with a torque sensor which measures the torque requirement in real time and seamlessly starts assisting the rider when the torque demand suddenly increases. As a result, the moment the rider feels the need for more power, it is available via the 750 W rear wheel hub mounted motor. The system uses a bluetooth enabled controller for providing the support.

The company claims that the bike offers three times more power as compared to the closest rival. It can achieve a top speed of 28 mph (45 Km/h) and has a range of 20 to 60 miles (32 to 96 Km). Its battery pack needs two hours to completely charge the battery.

The Cafe’s comes with a chromoly steel frame which has been meticulously engineered to provide the perfect harmony between performance and comfort. It displays the aesthetics of bygone beauty. The bike is versatile because of its removable battery. The bike comes with disc brakes front and rear and is available in three sizes. You can order your bike in two colours with or without a rack. Options also exist to ft either one or two panniers with the rack. The Cafe is available with a laser cut wood inlay. The owner can choose a Maple inlay with the “Golden Gate Red” bike or the Walnut inlay with the “Skyline Bronze” bike. You can buy one for the price of a Maruti Alto at US$ 3,995 (INR 2,91,635.00).
