“Are you rich?”

“Yes”

“How rich, First Class, or Private Jet?”

“Private Jet.”

These were a set of dialogues from a Bollywood movie when Anoushka Sharma was trying to assess the net worth of her new muse. Well, for all those “Private Jet” rich guys, there is a new toy in town, the enhanced Embraer Phenom 300E. As if the original Phenom 300E, the largest selling executive jet of the 2010s was not enough, Embraer went ahead and got the new enhanced aircraft certified from ANAC, EASA and FAA.

So what are the enhancements? Well, first and foremost, the aircraft comes with a new suite of avionics. This includes the world’s first ROAAS or Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System offered in a business jet. In addition the new avionics suite offers predictive windshear, Emergency Descent Mode, PERF, TOLD, and FAA Datacom. The cockpit now also allows single pilot operation through the Prodigy Touch Flight Deck which is based on the Garmin 3000 avionics suite. This system improves the situational awareness by providing clear information about the speed, altitude, fuel, engine performance and other flight parameters. The Phenom 300E also offers 4G connectivity via Gogo AVANCE L5.

The aircraft’s range has been increased to 3,723 Km with a reserve of five passengers. It now has a maximum payload of 1,196 Kg. The flight parameters have been improved, allowing the aircraft to take off using a distance of 978 m and allowing un-factored landing in 674m. The aircraft now has a top speed of 464 knots (835 Km/h).

All the enhancements have not been on the technical side only. The Phenom 300E now comes with the 17′ 2″ long Oval Lite cabin providing better space for seating and movement. It is offered with an optional Bossa Nova Edition interior. This interior won best interior design at the 2019 International Yacht & Aviation Awards. The aircraft comes with a generous luggage compartment and Embraer’s iconic airstair and oversized windows. The cabin employs a cutting edge “backbone of technology” with adjustable lighting, touchscreen monitors and patented flush gaspers. There are multiple zones of customisation, and a nice HD by Lufthansa Technik. This system allows advanced cabin control that offers portable device integration and wireless audio/video streaming. The aircraft also offers some options which are generally offered in aircraft a segment above, like externally serviced lavatory.
