Amels Shipyard in Holland has announced the commencement of outfitting for their latest Amels 200 yacht. This is a luxury vessel in which the interiors have been designed by Laura Pompini. The shipyard is continuing with production work maintaining the necessary precautions and distance between the shipbuilders while the designers and engineers are working from home. The vessel is due for delivery in 2021.
“During these challenging times we’ve taken wide-ranging measures at our yards to minimise the impact and spread of the virus,” says Managing Director Rose Damen. “The health and wellbeing of those working at the yard is our top priority. So the arrival of this new hull shows a great determination and adaptability from everyone involved including our suppliers. It gives me a lot of confidence that we will get through this crisis in our industry together.”
The Amels 200 has been designed by Tim Heywood and is his third vessel. She has a gleaming white hull with geometric design. The super structure of the vessel replicates the waves in the ocean and give a sense of speed and power. The Amels 200 is 60 m long, has a beam (maximum width) of 10.62 m and draught of 3.40 m when fully loaded. She displaces 950 tonnes at full load. In keeping with the times, the Amels 200 is propelled by a hybrid electrical system. The Amels 200 is large enough to carry to carry two tenders on the foc’sle, has sun decks on three decks and a small swimming pool as well ahead of the bridge. If required, the swimming pool deck can double as a helipad also.
The yacht boasts of full height windows in the Owner’s Suite which has a folding balcony. The yacht has four decks and with access to all the decks using and elevator as well as a central staircase. The 12 guests which this yacht can accommodate can enjoy sun bathing on the Sun Deck Sky Lounge which can be accessed using the central staircase as well as the elevators. The owner also has access to private VIP Suite on Bridge Deck. Amels 200 has space to accommodate 12 crew members and the Captain for serving the guests. The Amels 200 comes installed with all amenities its billionaire owner may need at sea including a sea facing gym for exercising.
The Amels 200 is has long legs, flippers, rather giving it a range of 4,500 nautical miles with a top speed of 15.5 knots (28 Km/h).
