The Mercedes-Benz G class has been an out and out success as a go anywhere off road vehicles for the last 40 years. Come 01 Sep 2020, the car will be offered with even more goodies as standard package. Though, good thins don’t come cheap. The G class will be priced between Euro 99,446.80 and 154,309.00.
So what do you get at this price. Well, the top of the range G 400 d is fully customisable. Yes, not limits customisation. This car will be powered by in-line six-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 330 hp and maximum torque of 700 Nm at 1200 to 3200 rpm.
A special new enhancement is the “Desert” drive program. It is designed for maximum traction on sandy terrain. The system has a perfect interplay of late upshifting, direct throttle response and adjusted ESP control which makes the G-Class even more of a desert champion. The new G Class comes with a Parking Package with reversing camera allowing the G-Class to cut a fine figure on any terrain.
Now, the popular Night Package can now be ordered without the AMG Line and Stainless Steel Package. This package comprises heat-insulating dark-tinted glass, outside mirror housings and radiator grille in obsidian black metallic. Further, it has darkened turn signal lamps, reversing lamps and headlamps.
If you order the AMG version, it comes fitted with the new 20-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheel. These wheels have a high-sheen finish and are painted in a choice of high-gloss black or himalaya grey.
The interiors have also got a huge update. The G Class also comes with the widescreen cockpit as standard equipment. The frameless inside rearview mirror, which was previously part of the Leather Packages is also a standard fit now. The switches for the window lifters come in silver chrome and the sun visors in DINAMICA microfibre. Black floor mats are also now on board as standard. In conjunction with the AMG Line, floor mats bearing the AMG logo adorn the floor of the G-Class.
The URBAN GUARD Vehicle Protection and URBAN GUARD Vehicle Protection Plus systems provide a better anti-theft system including, Anti-theft alarm system, tow-away protection with visual and audible warning, Alarm Siren, interior protection and theft and parking collision detection system. In addition, URBAN GUARD Vehicle Protection Plus includes pinpointing the location of a stolen vehicle.
