Motor1.com has reported that Citroen had their new Berlingo van tested for the rough and tumble of a construction site at the hands of none other than their WRC driver Esapekka Lappi and his co-driver Janne Ferm. The vehicle was tested at Langley Park Rally School at Essex. The vehicle which had to undergo the beating was a Citroen Berlingo Worker, which is designed for use in contruction sites. The vehicle had 30 mm more clearance than a normal van and underbody protection. It was specced with goodies like the “Grip Control” traction control system, “Hill Descent Assist” along with mud and snow tyres. As per Citroen, the rally track was used not only to test vehicles but also to test the systems installed onboard.

In addition to commercial versions, the Berlingo is also available as a passenger carrier.
