Tata Motors is a leading commercial vehicle brand in South Africa. The company launched two new models of the Ultra range of trucks for the South African market at the Futuroad Expo 2019 at Johannesburg. The two models are the Ultra AMT 814 and the Ultra Plus 1418.

The Ultra AMT 814 is a version of the existing Ultra trucks for customers looking at ease of driving. On the other hand, the Ultra 1418 is a new offering in the HCV segment. These trucks are available in various wheel bases like 4,900 mm and 5,300 mm. They have payload capacity of 5.5 Tons and 7.5 Tons.

The Ultra platform is a modular platform with 5 deck lengths and 5 wheelbases and payload ranging from 4 to 8 tons. They have engine options offering 140 or 180 PS common rail diesel engines and six speed gearboxes with overdrive. These trucks come with ergonomic seating, low NVH and air conditioning as standard. The cabins meet European safety standards. Stopping power is provided by pneumatic breaks.
