Porsche started the “Sports Cup Deutschland” (Sports Cup Germany) as an owner and Club event 15 years ago. The company is celebrating the 15th anniversary and how. Porsche organised a Sportscar Together Day at Hockenheimring on 12 Oct 19. On this occasion the company revealed a special edition Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Sports Cup Edition.

On the occassion Alexander Pollich, CEO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH stated, “At the ‘Sportscar Together Day’, Porsche enthusiasts from all over the world can experience the multi-faceted fascination of the brand. The large meeting of our customers and fans directly at the race track provides the ideal backdrop for the premiere of our 718 Cayman GT4 Sports Cup Edition. We have designed this special-edition model for the German market together with the experts from Style Porsche and the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.” 

The special edition car is offered in two colours, black and white with contrasting accents in red. On the exterior, the car has been endowed with a very tasty racing red double stripe across the entire car on the left side, driver’s side in Germany. There are also red stripes along the bottom of the car from the front fenders and across the doors with the number 15 mimicking the racing number. The bright red colour continues on the rear spoiler supports at the rear. The wheels of the cars are in black with a red a red ring around the rim. The brake pads are also in black.

On the inside, the special edition Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is covered in swathes of black leather and Alcantara. The driver has been accorded special attention with a red center panel in the driver’s seat. The black leather is stitched with Guards Red thread and the seat belts are also in Guards Red. There is also a 12’O Clock marking on the alcantara steering wheel and red shift pattern on the gear lever. The door guards are made from carbon and has the marking “718 Cayman GT4 Sports Cup Edition”.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is powered by 4.0 litre six cylinder naturally aspirated engine producing 420 PS of power. Dynamics and handling is aided by large front spoiler lip, air curtains, diffuser and fixed rear wing. The car comes with the PASM damping system (Porsche Active Suspension Management) which is designed specifically for race track driving and lowers the vehicle by 30 millimetres to improve the transverse dynamics potential.
