Russian internet company Yandex has been developing technology for driverless cars since 2016. They have been testing these cars in the Russian technology hubs of Skolkovo and Innopolis where people can use driverless taxis.

In 2018, Yandex got the approval to test these driverless cars in Israel and now they will be providing ten cars to ferry the visitors to the International Auto Show in Detroit which is scheduled from 6 to 21 Jun 2020. Once finished with the show, these cars will remain in the USA for further testing. These cars have been developed in collaboration with Hyundai Mobis and are based on the Hyundai Sonata 2020 model.

Yandex is also considering an IPO in the USA and Russia for its taxi business Yandex Taxi in collaboration with Uber Technologies. However details of the same are not available.
