Ampere Vehicles is the Electric Vehicle brand of Greaves Cotton. The company is based in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Ampere have launched their newest offering, the Reo-Elite. It is an upgrade model of the Reo Electric scooter and is priced at INR 45,099.00 (US$ 635) plus taxes. The scooter can be booked on the company website with a payment of INR 1,999.00.

The Reo-Elite is offered with a 250 W (0.34 PS) electric motor drawing power from a 960 W-h lead acid battery or a 1.15 KW-h li-ion battery. The Lead Acid version has a range of 50 Km while the Li-ion scooter has a range of 60 Km. Both the scooters have a bicycle comparable speed of 25 km/h and can carry a payload of 120 Kgs. Both scooters need between 8 to 10 hours to charge their batteries using a domestic 15 ampere single phase plug point.

The Reo-Elite is offered with some more value added equipment like, LED digital dashboard, dual shock absorbers and USB charging point.
