After the success of the Kodiaq in India, Skoda has now launched its baby brother the Karoq. The car can be booked at any Skoda dealer in India against a refundable deposit of INR 50,000.00 or through the website of the company. Skoda expects to commence delivery of the cars from 06 May 2020. At the launch, Zac Hollis, Brand Director – Skoda Auto India, said: “Our SUV model range caters to a growing class of discerning customers with the taste for luxury as well as the right ‘value for money’ proposition. While retaining its strong family characteristics, the much-anticipated Karoq will continue to drive Skoda Auto’s success in India.”

The Karoq would be powered by a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder inline turbo petrol TSI engine. Breathing through two four valves per cylinder, the engine can produce 150 PS of power and 250 N-m of torque which would be transmitted to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This set up can push the car to a top speed of 203 Km/h and a 0-100 km/h timing of 8.9 seconds.
The Karoq is 4,382 mm long, 1,841 mm wide (excluding the wing mirrors), and 1,603 mm tall. Its a spacious car with a wheelbase of 2,638 mm. The ground clearance is 172 mm. It has MacPherson suspension with lower triangular links and torsion stabiliser at front and compound link crank axle doing service at the rear. Braking is provided by disc brakes all round.
