First Automotive Works (FAW) is a Chinese company manufacturing three brands of cars, the Hongqi, Bestune, Junpai and Senia. They also manufacture the FAW series of commercial vehicles. The company was established in 1953 and is the oldest Chinese automobile company with sales exceeding 3 million units per year. Incidentally, another partially owned brand of the company, Haima is expected to be launched in India soon.

Amidst the diminishing virus scare in China, the company has launched a new SUV, the Bestune T77PRO. The launch was done through a live streaming website, as is becoming the norm in the automotive industry under the present circumstances.
The Bestune T77PRO is a handsome looking car sans some of the quirky styling seen on Chinese cars. It has a broad hexagonal grille with diamond cut slats. FAW calls it “Light and Shadow” treatment. A narrow air dam flanked by large trapeziodal air intakes completes the bumper. The bonnet is sculpted and has a muscular feel about it. The car has a strong waistline and a floating roof treatment which is becoming de rigueur.

Inside, the car has a modern touch and feel with a fully digital instrument display, steering control and upgraded intelligent connectivity technologies. The car offers Bestune radio, AI music, smart entertainment, as well as intelligent control function. The car comes with connected car technologies like Bestune’s D-life Connectivity System and 3D Total Intelligent Control System.
The Bestune T77PRO is powered by a turbocharged 1.5 litre Gasoline Direct Injection engine. It produces 169 PS of power and 258 N-m of torque at 1,300 rpm.
