Feb 2020 saw the rather muted Auto Expo in NOIDA, what with several companies not participating and the shadow of the Corona virus pandemic looming over the event, though still limited to China at that time. However, the stall of MG Motors drew a steady crowd thanks to the six seater version of their very popular Hector SUV on display. Also on display was the much larger, MG Gloster, an SUV ticking all the right boxes, huge imposing grille, large dimensions, butch looks and a go anywhere attitude.

MG had announced that the company would be launching the Hector Six Seat or the Hector+, the Gloster and other models by March 2021. The company has confirmed, that though there has been a downturn due to the Coron outbreak and the related lock down, they would keep their launch date for the Hector+ by June 2020 and the Gloster by Nov 2020.

MG is expecting a fall in sales by up to 15 to 17% in case the lock down gets extended. The company is facing supply issues as a large part of their local components are manufactured in the Pune region which is one of the declared hotspots in Maharashtra.
