With the Coronavirus pandemic preventing physical launches, Lamborghini announced the launch of the Huracan EVO Rear Wheel Drive Spyder through Augmented Reality on their website. The car is a rocket and will provide company to the Huracan All Wheel Drive Spyder.

The Lamborghini exudes beauty and function with its aluminium and thermoplastic resin body. The body has been designed to reduce drag and provide grip through aerodynamic interventions like diffusers and splitters. These are significantly different from the aerodynamic aids provided on the All Wheel Drive Spyder and differentiate the car from its stablemate. A light weight retractable soft roof has been provided to protect the occupants from inclement weather. It also serves to reduce the noise in the cabin when driving at high speeds. The top can be ordered in several colours to match the innumerable colour options available for the body. This roof can be raised as well as lowered in just 17 seconds at speeds up to 50 Km/h.

In addition to the roof, the Lamborghini Huracan also allows the driver to raise or lower a rear and lateral windows with the roof down. This helps reduce the noise and allows conversation inside the car even with the roof down. This has been done because the car is basically designed to enjoy the weather with the roof down.

The Huracan EVO RWD is provided with a Performance Traction Control System P-TCS which helps control the car in various condition when the driver may get over enthusiastic. The system has three modes which can be selected from the steering wheel, STRADA for normal day driving and for the road. This is the strictest nanny and helps control the car even in bad weather conditions by minimizing rear-wheel slippage, and more proactively managing torque delivery on low-adhesion surfaces. The SPORT option lets the driver enjoy drifting, allowing the rear wheels to slide during acceleration. In this mode, the torque is limited only when oversteer angles increase rapidly. This is done to assist the driver stabilize and control the car. The third option is CORSA. This mode optimizes the car’s traction and agility when exiting a corner at high speed.

For better stability, the car has a 40:60 front to rear weight distribution. It runs on Aluminium double wishbone suspension front and rear with steel springs and hydraulic dampers. Lamborghini offers the “MagneRide” electromagnetic damper control as an option. The chassis is a hybrid made from carbon fibre and aluminium. Thanks to all the weight control measures, the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD weighs 1,509 kg dry.

The car is 4,520 mm long with a wheel base of 2,620 mm, providing for a comfortable and spacious interior for two. The interiors are installed with an HMI 8.4” touchscreen in the center console. This system controls the car’s functions as well as provides comprehensive connectivity for telephone calls, internet access and Apple CarPlay. Electromechanical power steering provides for a precise control with good feedback. Lamborghini offers an LDS steering with variable steering ratio as an option. Electronic Stability Control has been provided for better control of the car.

The Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD is powered by a 5,204 cc naturally aspirated V-10 petrol engine. This Euro 6 compliant engine produces 610 BHP at 8,000 rpm and 560 N-m of torque at 6,500 rpm. All the power and torque is transmitted to the rear wheels through 7-speed LDF dual-clutch transmission. The shift characteristics of the gearbox can be varied from the ANIMA system on the steering wheel.

This engine pushes the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD to a top speed of 324 km/h. When you launch, it covers 0-100 Km/h in 3.5 seconds, 200 Km/h is achieved in another 6.1 seconds. The hydraulic dual-circuit brake system has vacuum brake servo unit. The front system uses 8-piston aluminum calipers on specially contoured ventilated and cross drilled 365 mm steel disc at the front. At the rear 4-piston aluminum calipers clutch ventilated and cross drilled 356 mm steel disc. This system can bring the Lamborghini Huracan EVO RWD to a stop from 100 Km/h in 32.2 m.

These cars would be available across Europe, UK, USA, China and Japan. In Europe the prices start at Euros 175,838.
